Earlier, World No. 107 Kyrian Jacquet achieved a career-best win, defeating third seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry. Jacquet's swift 6-2, 6-3 victory propelled him to his second ATP Tour quarter-final and a jump to World No. 94.
Fabian Marozsan, the sixth seed, also advanced to the quarter-finals after a hard-fought three-set victory against Taro Daniel. The Hungarian rallied from a set down to win 6-7(2), 7-5, 7-6(1).
