21 Aug
Summary
- Royals rookie Jac Caglianone out with hamstring injury since July 26
- Fiancee Elli McKissock supports Caglianone during Triple-A rehab assignment
- Caglianone hits home run, drives in run in recent rehab games

As of August 21, 2025, Kansas City Royals rookie Jac Caglianone remains sidelined due to a hamstring injury he suffered on July 26. The promising outfielder/first baseman was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Royals following the incident.
During Caglianone's rehab assignment with the Royals' Triple-A affiliate, the Omaha Storm Chasers, his fiancee Elli McKissock has been showing her support. On Wednesday, Elli shared a glimpse of her game day activities on Instagram, including holding a hot dog and drink while cheering on Caglianone's outing against the Columbus Clippers.
Despite the injury setback, Caglianone has been heating up at the plate during his rehab games. On Tuesday, he smashed a two-run home run to help the Storm Chasers to a 9-4 victory. The rookie also drove in a run in Wednesday's contest as Omaha came from behind to win 5-4 against the Clippers.
While Caglianone's performance is encouraging, Royals manager Matt Quatraro has cautioned that his return to the major league roster remains uncertain. Quatraro emphasized that the team wants Caglianone to focus on getting back on his feet and regaining his form, rather than rushing him back.
The Royals are likely to wait until September 1, when MLB teams can expand their rosters to 28 players, before potentially activating Caglianone from the injured list.
