Rooney: Gyokeres' Value Beyond Goals

Wayne Rooney has voiced his support for Viktor Gyokeres' contribution to Arsenal, arguing his value extends beyond goal tallies. Rooney highlighted the critical role of a designated penalty taker, especially in match situations at 0-0, underscoring Gyokeres' importance in such moments.

Rooney further elaborated that Gyokeres excels at occupying opposition center-backs, such as Tarkowski and Keane in a recent match. This tactical role, though not always eye-catching, is crucial for creating additional space and opportunities for Arsenal's number 10s and wide players.

While acknowledging that Gyokeres should ideally score more goals, Rooney concluded that the Swedish forward plays an essential, albeit understated, role in Arsenal's broader offensive strategy and their title aspirations.
