The Chiefs are hoping that Smith's speed can provide a much-needed injection into their run game after a disappointing 2024 season. However, the rookie is still working to adapt to the increased pace and physicality of the professional level. "Just being patient," Smith added. "I'll say sometimes I know I'm fast, so I'll be really quick sometimes. Sometimes I could just be a little slower, and everything will read for itself."
As Smith continues to acclimate to Andy Reid's system, the Chiefs remain optimistic that the undrafted free agent can carve out a role for himself in their backfield rotation alongside free agent signing Elijah Mitchell.
