On November 14th, 2025, 18-year-old amateur golfer Kai Trump made her LPGA debut at the Annika tournament in Florida. However, the granddaughter of former US President Donald Trump struggled mightily, shooting a 13-over-par round and finishing in last place.
Trump hit two double bogeys and nine bogeys in her opening round, admitting she was "definitely more nervous than expected." Despite this, the young golfer felt she struck "a lot of great shots" but they ended up in the wrong spots. Trump acknowledged that being her first LPGA event, she had to adjust to the pace of play, saying she felt "a little out of order in the beginning" before finding her rhythm later on.
The leaderboard was led by -6 H Ryu of South Korea, followed by -5 G Kim of Australia and -4 J Kupcho of the United States. Other top players included -3 C Hull of England, S Lee of South Korea, L Maguire of Ireland, and M Saigo of Japan.
