Rookie Karon Prunty is actively learning from New England Patriots star cornerback Christian Gonzalez. Prunty, who was not invited to the Scouting Combine before being drafted, is closely studying Gonzalez's techniques and field awareness during practice sessions. He aims to incorporate these lessons into his own game, hoping to become a physical cornerback who excels in both press and zone coverage.
Gonzalez, a top prospect drafted 17th overall, is considered one of the league's premier defensive backs. Prunty believes he and Gonzalez play the game similarly and is committed to doing his job on every snap. By studying the Patriots' secondary and understanding offensive schemes, Prunty is working to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
