Ronaldo Greets Former Barcelona Star at Al-Nassr

In a recent interview, former Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez has disclosed that Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al-Nassr, was waiting to welcome him after Martinez joined the Saudi Pro League club this month. Martinez, who activated a clause in his contract to leave Barcelona for free, said he had heard good things about Ronaldo from other players and was impressed when the star player spoke with him during the pre-season training camp.

The move to Al-Nassr has been a shock for many at Barcelona, but Martinez stated that it was an offer he could not turn down due to the lucrative financial terms. Barcelona have managed to save €14 million in wages from the defender's decision to join Ronaldo's team. The Catalan club were happy to welcome the move as they need to make space in the wage bill to register Marcus Rashford.

Martinez recalled his discussion with Barcelona manager Hansi Flick after deciding to make the switch to Al-Nassr. The Spaniard said that the German coach was initially surprised but quickly understood the reason behind the move.
