Ex-Ranger Ron Duguay Hospitalized After Fall

Former New York Rangers forward Ron Duguay was hospitalized last week after collapsing at his home. His daughter reported that he was found unconscious, suffering facial injuries, and had lost several teeth in the fall.

Medical professionals determined Duguay was severely dehydrated and had been experiencing sickness, which impacted his ability to eat. Further examinations revealed varices, portal hypertensive gastropathy, internal bleeding, and an ulcer.

These new health challenges compound Duguay's existing fight against Stage 4 colon cancer, diagnosed last year. He has already undergone surgery to remove his appendix and gallbladder.

Doctors are concerned about bleeding and pressure buildup in his liver, a complication stemming from his cancer and previous treatments. Despite these serious issues, Duguay shared a lighthearted update, joking about finding his lost teeth.

A GoFundMe campaign initiated by his family to cover medical costs has surpassed $160,000. As of Monday, he remained hospitalized and was receiving blood transfusions.

Duguay, who played 12 NHL seasons, including eight with the Rangers, accumulated 620 points in 864 career games.
