Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan commended Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag for his astute leadership during a recent match against Gujarat Titans. Parag's captaincy shone through with unconventional yet effective tactical decisions, notably against left-handed batsmen and the selection of bowlers for critical overs.
These strategic moves, including entrusting Jofra Archer with the penultimate over, proved instrumental. Archer's disciplined bowling restricted Gujarat's scoring, setting a challenging target for the final over. Tushar Deshpande ultimately secured the win for Rajasthan Royals by successfully defending the required runs, showcasing composure under pressure.
The Rajasthan Royals narrowly defeated Gujarat Titans by six runs. This victory was significantly influenced by Parag's confidence in his bowlers and their execution of his plans. The team now looks ahead to facing Mumbai Indians.
