27 Feb
Summary
- Rinku Singh's father passed away from advanced liver cancer.
- He was hospitalized on February 21 and placed on a ventilator.
- Stage 4 liver cancer is incurable and has spread beyond the liver.

Khanchand Singh, father of Indian cricketer Rinku Singh, passed away on Friday morning at a Greater Noida hospital. He had been battling stage 4 liver cancer, a condition where the disease has spread beyond the liver to other organs, rendering it incurable.
Admitted on February 21, Khanchand Singh's condition worsened, necessitating ventilator support prior to his death. Rinku Singh had departed the ICC Men's T20 World Cup camp to be with his family as his father's health declined.
Stage 4 liver cancer, also known as metastatic liver cancer, is the most advanced form. While incurable, treatments aim to manage symptoms and slow progression. Survival rates for this stage are statistically low, around 3% for those with distant spread.
Treatment options may include systemic therapies like chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy, alongside localized treatments such as radiofrequency ablation and transarterial chemoembolisation. Palliative care and, in select cases, liver transplants are also considered.
