Broncos' Moss Contract: Big Money Deal Ahead?

The Denver Broncos have yet to extend cornerback Riley Moss, a fourth-year player whose contract is set to expire. Moss is considered one of the NFL's top pending free agents for 2027, with projections indicating he could command an annual salary of approximately $17 million, matching Jaylen Watson's deal with the Rams.

While Moss is highly valued for his ability to play opposite star cornerback Patrick Surtain II, he led all cornerbacks in penalty yards last season. However, he showed significant improvement after the team's Week 10 bye, largely reducing penalties and effectively filling in as the No. 1 corner when Surtain was sidelined with an injury.

Head coach Sean Payton has praised Moss's toughness, mental resilience, and ability to overcome a high-volume of targets and penalties. The Broncos organization even utilized training camp with on-site officials to help players like Moss refine their technique and understand officiating tendencies. Despite the complexities of managing contracts with other key players, Denver possesses sufficient cap space to potentially secure Moss long-term, with a possible extension being considered around their Week 10 bye.
