- Renegade secured a maiden-breaking victory in the Sam F. Davis Stakes.

Renegade, a colt trained by Todd Pletcher, achieved a decisive maiden-breaking victory in the Sam F. Davis Stakes this past Saturday. This impressive performance at Tampa Bay Downs propelled the son of Into Mischief to the third position in the latest NTRA Top 3-Year-Old poll, earning one first-place vote.
The race saw jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. guide Renegade to a 3 ¾-length triumph over 1 1/16 miles in a final time of 1:43.54. Renegade's win marked a significant step forward in his three-year-old campaign.
Joining the top 10 are Silent Tactic and Plutarch. Silent Tactic, a G3 Southwest winner trained by Mark Casse, now ranks sixth after closing from near the back at Oaklawn Park. Plutarch, bred and owned by the Coolmore partners and trained by Bob Baffert, holds the eighth spot following his victory in the G3 Robert B. Lewis at Santa Anita.
However, the top spot in the NTRA Top 3-Year-Old poll remains with Nearly, the G3 Holy Bull winner, who garnered 15 first-place votes. Paladin, last year's G2 Remsen winner, is ranked second with five first-place votes.
