The Cincinnati Reds recently unveiled their 2026 Major League Award recipients, honoring outstanding player performances. Elly De La Cruz received the Ernie Lombardi Most Valuable Player award, capping off a remarkable season. He has already set numerous franchise records within his young career, including being the only player since 1900 to achieve significant extra-base hit and stolen base milestones within his first 300 games.
Chase Burns was named the Johnny Vander Meer Outstanding Pitcher. Despite a challenging season for the team's pitching staff, Burns achieved an impressive 15-3 record with a 2.86 ERA and 185 strikeouts over 154.1 innings. His performance has led to a seven-year, $105 million contract extension, keeping him with the Reds until the 2033 season.
Emilio Pagan was honored with the Joe Nuxhall Good Guy Award for the second consecutive year. Known for his exceptional sportsmanship and positive clubhouse presence, Pagan has become a fan favorite during his two years with the team. While currently a free agent, there is speculation he may re-sign with the Reds.
