Red Wings Shuffle Lines to Snap 3-Game Skid as Ducks Visit
13 Nov
Summary
- Red Wings coach McLellan changes lines, moves DeBrincat to top line
- Ducks' Carlsson extends point streak to 11 games despite recent loss
- Red Wings limited to just 2 goals during 3-game losing streak

As the Anaheim Ducks visit the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday, November 13th, 2025, Red Wings coach Todd McLellan is making changes to his lineup in an effort to snap a 3-game losing streak. McLellan has moved winger Alex DeBrincat to the top line, where he will skate alongside Lucas Raymond and Dylan Larkin. Meanwhile, rookie Emmitt Finnie has been promoted to the second line with Patrick Kane and J.T. Compher.
The Red Wings have struggled offensively of late, managing just 2 total goals during their current 3-game skid. They were recently shut out 1-0 by the Vegas Golden Knights and lost at home to the New York Rangers 4-1 and the Chicago Blackhawks 5-1. With 3 days off between games, McLellan took the opportunity to put the team through a rigorous practice, focusing on physical play and puck battles.
On the other side, the Ducks are coming off a 4-1 road loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, which snapped their 7-game winning streak. However, 20-year-old forward Leo Carlsson continues to impress, extending his point streak to 11 games with a goal in the loss. Carlsson leads the Ducks with 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists) on the season.
The Ducks previously defeated the Red Wings 5-2 at home on October 31st, with Carlsson recording a 4-point night against former Ducks goalie John Gibson. As the two teams meet again, the Red Wings will be looking to get their offense back on track and end their current slide.
