Larkin's Captaincy in Doubt as Red Wings Camp Nears

Adding to the team's uncertainty, the Red Wings are actively searching for a new general manager after Steve Yzerman's departure last month. Analyst Mike Rupp suggested that if Larkin remains with the team when camp begins, he should no longer hold the captaincy. Rupp emphasized the need for a cultural reset and to shed the perceived negative "stink" surrounding the franchise.

Larkin has consistently scored at least 30 goals for five consecutive seasons. However, the team's offensive capabilities could be further diminished if Larkin departs, following Patrick Kane's earlier exit.
