Boston Red Sox top prospect Franklin Arias has officially joined the Triple-A Worcester Red Sox, arriving at Polar Park on Friday, July 25, 2026. Arias, who was promoted from Double-A Portland, expressed his excitement, stating it's a dream come true just a phone call away from the major leagues. He was one of the youngest players in Double-A, where he excelled, ranking second in the Eastern League with a .318 batting average and hitting 19 home runs in 75 games.
Ranked as Baseball America's No. 4 prospect in all of minor league baseball, Arias was signed by the Red Sox in 2023 out of Venezuela. His performance this season has been outstanding, earning him Eastern League Player of the Month for April. He also participated in the 2026 MLB All-Star Future's Game in Philadelphia.
Arias was informed of his promotion by Portland Sea Dogs staff on Thursday, July 24, 2026, after their road win. After celebrating the news with his family, he traveled four hours to Worcester.
