Duran Confronts Fan After Ground Out
29 Jun
Summary
- Left fielder Jarren Duran appeared to argue with a fan.
- The fan was escorted from Fenway Park during the game.
- Duran has a history of fan interactions, including an incident in April.

During Saturday afternoon's game, Red Sox left fielder Jarren Duran engaged with a fan who had been shouting for several innings. After a ground out in the eighth inning of a 4-1 win against the Yankees, Duran seemed to shout towards the spectator. Teammates quickly pulled Duran away into the dugout.
Interim manager Chad Tracy noted the fan was "chirping" and confirmed Duran's reaction. The fan, identified as wearing a Yankees cap and discussing baseball matters, was removed from Fenway Park in the ninth inning. Duran himself repeatedly stated that "nothing happened" when questioned about the incident.
This is not the first time Duran has had an in-game interaction with fans. In April, he faced scrutiny for flipping off fans in Minnesota. At that time, he claimed someone told him to kill himself, though an investigation found no evidence of such a statement.
