Real Madrid's pre-season preparations under new manager Jose Mourinho are starting to take shape. The club will play a friendly against Fiorentina in Klagenfurt, Austria, on August 1st. This match is part of a more focused pre-season strategy, which deviates from extensive international tours.
The team's base will be Valdebebas, with training supplemented by domestic and European friendlies. Mourinho's preference for reduced commercial commitments aims to prioritize physical conditioning and tactical development, potentially mitigating past injury issues.
Several players will return earlier than anticipated due to early World Cup exits. Federico Valverde and Arda Guler are among those expected back soon, offering Mourinho valuable early integration opportunities. Valverde, in particular, will benefit from this extra time as he prepares to take on a captaincy role.
