Real Madrid manager José Mourinho returns to face his former club, Internazionale, in a significant UEFA Champions League encounter. Mourinho previously led Inter to a Champions League triumph in 2010, with current Inter manager Christian Chivu featuring in that winning squad.
In European competition this century, Real Madrid holds a perfect four-game winning streak against Internazionale, who have failed to score in their last three encounters. Kylian Mbappé is nearing a major milestone, aiming to equal Raúl's 71 goals in European Cup/Champions League history, currently sitting at 70 goals in 98 games.
Recent form shows Internazionale struggling in the UEFA Champions League, with five losses in their last six matches in the 2025-26 season. Conversely, under Mourinho's recent management, Real Madrid has demonstrated exceptional scoring consistency, finding the net in 97% of their Champions League games.
Supporting Real Madrid's attack are Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior, who have been instrumental in the Champions League over the past five seasons. Meanwhile, Internazionale's midfield features Hakan Çalhanoglu, noted for his line-breaking passes. The team also notably includes three English players.
