Federico Valverde secured a dramatic victory for Real Madrid at Celta Vigo with a stoppage-time winner. The late strike, which took a significant deflection off Marcos Alonso, ensured Real's first win in three league matches. Aurelien Tchouameni had initially put Real ahead shortly after Vinicius Jr hit the post. Celta Vigo managed to equalize after a defensive lapse allowed Borja Iglesias to score.
This win is particularly significant as Real Madrid were without several key players due to injury, including Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham. The victory narrows the gap to league leaders Barcelona to just one point. Real Madrid are now aiming to reclaim the top spot in La Liga. They also have a Champions League tie against Manchester City approaching.
