- Described GT coach Ashish Nehra as the "most friendly" he's seen

In an exclusive interview, wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat, who was part of the Gujarat Titans (GT) squad in IPL 2025, shared his thoughts on the captaincy styles of Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli. Rawat, who previously spent three seasons with RCB from 2022 to 2024, said that while his time with Gill at GT has been brief, he has seen the young captain lead the team well. As for Kohli, Rawat acknowledged the former RCB skipper's consistent excellence, stating "you have seen that he has always been number one."
Rawat also opened up about the atmosphere at GT and their head coach, Ashish Nehra. He expressed that Nehra was the "most friendly coach" he had ever seen, noting that the former India pacer would often sit and "chill" with the players on the team bus, rather than maintaining a typical coach-player dynamic.
Despite GT's elimination in the IPL 2025 Eliminator, Gill led from the front, scoring 650 runs from 15 matches. Rawat, who is currently plying his trade for the East Delhi Riders in the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, has been in impressive form, scoring 291 runs from seven games at an average of 58.20 and a strike-rate of 179.63.
