Ravens O-Line Woes: Key Players to Step Up vs. Titans
3 Oct
Summary
- Justice Hill expected to see increased snaps and touches.
- Devontez Walker may be targeted for deep shots against coverage.
- Travis Jones crucial for interior defensive push against Titans.
The Baltimore Ravens face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, a game that could be closer than anticipated due to the Ravens' offensive line struggles and home-loss streak. Rookie offensive coordinator Declan Doyle may need to employ creative strategies, involving less-discussed players to secure a win.
Reserve running back Justice Hill is expected to see a significant increase in usage, potentially carrying the ball up to 10 times and increasing his involvement in the passing game. His pass-protecting skills and ability to operate in spread formations make him valuable, especially in two-minute drill situations and short-yardage scenarios.
Wide receiver Devontez Walker, despite inconsistent targets, has proven effective with deep catches. With Zay Flowers likely to draw heavy coverage, Jackson may look to Walker for deep shots. His potential impact could include drawing pass interference penalties or even a long touchdown.
On the defensive side, Travis Jones is anticipated to play a crucial role. With Nnamdi Madubuike returning from injury and Calais Campbell on a pitch count, Jones's interior pressure will be important, especially against a young Titans quarterback who struggles against the blitz.
