Rangers Football Club has finalized the acquisition of 22-year-old striker Ryan Naderi in a deal worth £4.7 million. The transfer was completed on Deadline Day, marking a significant investment for the Ibrox club.
Initial negotiations had set a summer transfer fee of £3 million. However, following subsequent discussions with Hansa Rostock, an agreement was reached. This occurred despite the German third division club's preference to keep Naderi until the conclusion of the current season.
Naderi's move represents the fourth player to join Rangers during the January transfer window under head coach Danny Röhl. He follows Andreas Skov Olsen, Tochi Chukuwani, and Tuur Rommens in signing for the club.
Speaking after penning a long-term contract, Naderi conveyed his enthusiasm: "I am really pleased that this move has happened. Rangers are a world-renowned club who have a history of winning silverware and that's what I am here to achieve." He expressed eagerness to integrate with his new teammates and staff.
Head coach Danny Röhl welcomed the new signing, stating: "I am delighted to add Ryan to the squad. He is still young... but he has shown in Germany that he knows the way to goal." Röhl believes Naderi possesses significant potential that the club can help develop to the next level, anticipating a positive impact on the team.
