Rams Kicker Injured After Making Kickoff Field Goal

The Los Angeles Rams' kicking situation remains unstable following a knee injury to recently signed kicker Blake Grupe during his debut on Sunday. Grupe made a 44-yard field goal in the first quarter but sustained the injury while tackling the returner on the subsequent kickoff, leaving him doubtful for the remainder of the game.

This unfortunate turn of events forces the Rams to reshuffle their special teams. Punter Ethan Evans will now assume the kicking duties. Receiver Jordan Whittington was observed practicing holding duties, indicating he may also play a role in the kicking operation.

Grupe, a veteran kicker with prior NFL experience, had joined the Rams after recent stints with other teams. He had a career field goal accuracy of 81.9% and 98% on extra points entering this game. The Rams have faced persistent kicking issues throughout the current season, including missed attempts in their recent overtime loss.
