Royals Seek Stadium Safety Clarity from BCCI
12 Feb
Summary
- Rajasthan Royals seek clarity on stadium safety and infrastructure.
- Franchise submitted an audit report highlighting major stadium lapses.
- BCCI warned Rajasthan Cricket Association about hosting issues.

The Rajasthan Royals have formally alerted the BCCI and IPL Governing Council about unresolved safety and infrastructural issues at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. While the franchise is agreeable to using the Jaipur venue as its home ground, it requires formal acknowledgement of a stadium safety compliance report from the BCCI, Rajasthan State Sports Council, and the Chief Minister's Office.
Sources indicate the Royals submitted a stadium audit report in January, conducted by a private firm, which detailed major deficiencies in life safety, structural integrity, and statutory compliance. This follows earlier concerns raised since June last year regarding adherence to national regulatory codes.
The BCCI has confirmed receipt of the letter and is working towards a swift resolution, acknowledging the limited time before the IPL commences. The league's chairman had previously warned the Rajasthan Cricket Association in 2024 that failure to conduct elections could jeopardize their hosting capabilities.
