Summary
- Rezac, a walk-on quarterback, entered the transfer portal.
- He has committed to playing for South Dakota State.
- This move offers him a clearer path to playing time.
Anthony Rezac, a walk-on quarterback previously with Notre Dame, has officially entered the transfer portal. He announced his commitment to South Dakota State, a team that achieved a 9-5 record in the previous season, winning its first seven games.
While starting quarterback Chase Mason is expected to remain with the Jackrabbits, Rezac's decision positions him favorably for potential playing time in future seasons, possibly by 2027. Typically, walk-ons without prior experience do not leave their teams, making Rezac's transfer a notable move.
The shift to South Dakota State is anticipated to offer Rezac a more direct route to game action compared to his situation with Notre Dame. This strategic move aims to maximize his opportunities on the field.
