Punjab Kings are poised for the 2026 IPL auction with Rs 11.50 crore in their purse and a largely settled squad, looking to fill specific gaps. Having been runners-up in 2025, the team aims to fortify its lineup, particularly seeking an experienced wicket-keeper batter and spin bowling support.
The team boasts a strong core, including captain Shreyas Iyer, who has a remarkable record of leading three different franchises to IPL finals. The batting lineup features solid Indian talent like Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, complemented by a potent pace attack of Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen.
With key releases like Josh Inglis, Punjab Kings will likely target overseas players such as Jonny Bairstow or Tim Seifert for wicket-keeping duties. They also plan to acquire a spin specialist to bolster their bowling options, ensuring they have the necessary depth for another championship push.
