Meenagh, who previously served with the British Army's Parachute Regiment, lost both his legs in 2011 after an IED explosion in Helmand Province. He has since become a decorated athlete.
He captained the British team at the inaugural Invictus Games in 2014, competing in rowing. In 2018, he made history as the first Briton in 20 years to compete in Nordic skiing. He also made history in 2022 as part of the first British team to complete a relay event at the Paralympic Games.
