18 Aug
Summary
- Referees' decisions and VAR reviews will be made public weekly.
- A five-member panel evaluates all major match incidents.
- On-field official quotes will be shared on social media.

The Premier League will now release weekly findings from its independent Key Match Incidents (KMI) Panel, a significant step towards greater transparency. This panel, comprising five members, rigorously reviews and votes on all critical decisions made by referees and VAR during league matches. Previously, these detailed judgments were kept private, shared only with clubs and officials.
For the upcoming season, the league will also share direct quotes from on-field officials and VAR regarding major incidents via its Premier League Match Centre social media account. Additionally, in-game audio from referee-worn cameras will be broadcast from select matches, offering unprecedented access. The league continues to advocate for further broadcast communication from match officials. The 2026-27 Premier League season is scheduled to commence on Friday, August 21, 2026, with defending champions Arsenal facing promoted side Coventry City.
