Tadej Pogacar is poised to secure a record-equalling fifth Tour de France championship. The UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider is set to claim his fifth yellow jersey, holding a significant lead of six minutes and 26 seconds over his closest competitor. Stage 20 on Alpe d'Huez delivered considerable drama. Ecuador's Richard Carapaz emerged as the stage winner, crossing the finish line ahead of Remco Evenepoel. Organizers announced a modification to Sunday's final stage to Paris. The route's distance has been shortened from 133km to 89km. This decision was made to redirect emergency services responding to devastating wildfires in the south-west of the country.
