Pitso Mosimane Returns as Bafana Bafana Head Coach

Pitso Mosimane has been officially unveiled as the new head coach for South Africa's men's national football team, Bafana Bafana. This marks a significant return for the 62-year-old tactician, who previously held the position from July 2010 to June 2012.

Mosimane steps into the role previously occupied by Hugo Broos, whose five-year contract concluded at the end of July. Broos's tenure saw the team achieve a third-place finish in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations and return to the Fifa World Cup finals after a 14-year absence.

The South Africa Football Association's executive committee approved Mosimane's re-appointment on August 8. While the duration of his new contract remains undisclosed, Mosimane's coaching career includes notable club successes, such as winning the African Champions League three times with Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly, alongside recent coaching stints in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, and Iran.
