Mercury Snaps Losing Streak on Home Court

The Phoenix Mercury snapped a five-game losing streak, defeating the Connecticut Sun 72-63 on Sunday. DeWanna Bonner ignited the offense with a season-high 21 points, while Kahleah Copper added 18 points, including key baskets in the second half. The Mercury also benefited from their defense, scoring 22 points off the Sun's season-high 21 turnovers.

Phoenix secured a much-needed home victory, ending a three-game skid at home. Monique Akoa Makani contributed 11 points to the Mercury's effort. The Sun, who had their two-game win streak halted, were led by Brittney Griner's 19 points and Olivia Nelson-Ododa's 12 points and 12 rebounds. Connecticut's Aaliyah Edwards exited the game in the first quarter due to a knee injury.
