Pereira Powers White Sox Past Rays with 4 RBI
3 Aug
Summary
- Pereira hit a home run and a double, driving in four runs.
- This marks his highest RBI total of the season.
- He may see increased playing time due to another player's injury.
Estrada Pereira had a powerful offensive showing on Sunday, contributing significantly to the White Sox's decisive 9-1 win against the Rays. He finished the game with two hits in four at-bats, including a home run and a double.
Pereira's four RBI during Sunday's game represent a season high for the outfielder. This accomplishment is notable, as it was his first RBI since April 25. Despite a challenging first season with the White Sox, marked by injuries and a .225 batting average, Pereira's performance may lead to increased opportunities.
He is expected to see more action in the lineup as Braden Montgomery is currently sidelined due to a skin infection affecting his right ankle. Pereira has recorded four home runs and 11 RBI in 80 at-bats this season.
