Penn State is actively recruiting top talent for its Class of 2027, with a focus on bolstering its secondary. Following the commitment of three-star safety Jonathan Galette, the Nittany Lions have successfully garnered the attention of four-star safety Malaki Taufoou from California.
Taufoou, who initially did not have Penn State on his radar, was sufficiently impressed by a recent spring visit to schedule a follow-up in early June. While his home state program is currently considered the favorite, Penn State has now firmly entered the recruitment picture.
Ranked as the 35th best safety nationally for the Class of 2027 by 247Sports, Taufoou could significantly enhance Penn State's already 13th-ranked recruiting class. His upcoming visits to his top three schools in early to mid-June will be pivotal in his decision-making process.
During his senior season, Taufoou showcased his defensive capabilities with 46 tackles, six tackles for loss, and three pass breakups, highlighting his potential to make an immediate impact at the collegiate level.
