Torstein Traeen of Norway seized the yellow jersey, taking the lead from two-time Tour champion Tadej Pogacar. Traeen expressed disbelief and excitement about leading the world's biggest cycling race.
Pogacar and his main rival, Jonas Vingegaard, finished the stage nearly 13 minutes behind Traeen. Traeen, not considered an overall contender, may face challenges in retaining the jersey, especially when the race reaches the Pyrenees mountains on Stage 6.
