- Hockey captain's suspension to be reversed with PCB help.

The Pakistan hockey team faced severe mismanagement during their recent tour of Australia for the FIH Hockey Pro League 2025-26. Players reported being left without accommodations, leading them to spend hours on the streets and manage their own food and living arrangements in an Airbnb.
This crisis prompted the resignation of PHF president Tariq Bugti and the controversial two-year suspension of team captain Ammad Shakeel Butt. Amidst the turmoil, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as the Interior Minister, announced the PCB's commitment to supporting the hockey team.
Naqvi assured players of comprehensive assistance, emphasizing that their focus should remain solely on representing Pakistan. The PCB reportedly provided financial aid, with each player receiving one million Pakistani rupees. Furthermore, the PCB will help organize a training camp in Lahore to prepare for the Hockey World Cup qualifiers, and the captain's suspension is expected to be reversed.
