Texas Tech Legend Patrick Mahomes Joins ESPN's College GameDay

On November 8, 2025, ESPN's College GameDay will be broadcasting live from Lubbock, Texas, for a highly anticipated top-10 Big 12 matchup between the No. 7 BYU Cougars and the No. 8 Texas Tech Red Raiders. Adding to the excitement, the show has announced that former Texas Tech quarterback and current NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes will be this week's celebrity guest picker.

Mahomes, who played for the Red Raiders from 2014 to 2016, remains one of the most iconic figures in the program's history. During his time at Texas Tech, he threw for 11,252 yards and 93 touchdowns, completing 63.5% of his passes and averaging a school-record 351.6 passing yards per game.
