Pascal Siakam, a four-time All-Star and former Toronto Raptors championship teammate, recently returned to Canada to host EdTech Demo Day. This event showcased six startup companies participating in his EdTech Engine accelerator program, competing for $50,000 through business pitches focused on enhancing the student classroom experience. Siakam, now with the Indiana Pacers, expressed his strong ties to the city, remarking, "Toronto, for me, it's home." He emphasized the importance of supporting innovators developing new technologies.

Siakam's return to Toronto highlights a significant offseason for the franchise, which is currently navigating the complexities of a potential Kawhi Leonard trade. The trade has been placed on hold as NBA Commissioner Adam Silver awaits the conclusion of an investigation involving Leonard. This situation leaves players like Brandon Ingram and Gradey Dick in uncertainty.

During his 7.5-year tenure with the Raptors, Siakam began his foundation and earned the Most Improved Player award in the same year Toronto won its first championship. He has consistently averaged over 20 points per game since his breakout season. The Raptors traded Siakam at the 2024 midseason deadline to retool their lineup.
