31 Jul
Summary
- Brendan Hands departs Parramatta Eels immediately to join Toulouse Olympique
- Hands remains under contract with Eels through 2026 NRL season
- Eels praise Hands' contributions, see move as chance to gain valuable experience
In a mid-season move, the Parramatta Eels have announced the immediate departure of hooker Brendan Hands, who will join Toulouse Olympique for the remainder of the 2025 season. Hands, a Penrith junior who joined the Eels in 2022, has been a reliable operator for the club out of dummy half.
Originally touted as Reed Mahoney's successor, Hands has battled for minutes against the likes of Joey Lussick, Ryley Smith, and Tallyn Da Silva. Despite this, the Eels have expressed their faith in Hands, having extended his contract through the 2026 NRL season last November.
Eels general manager of football Mark O'Neill praised Hands' contributions to the club, stating, "Brendan has been terrific for us during his time at our club. This is a great opportunity for him to gain valuable experience where he can continue his development in a new environment."
