12 Mar
Summary
- Organizers explained rules on national flag displays in communal spaces.
- Ukraine athletes faced restrictions on wearing "Stop War" earrings.
- Fans were asked to remove Ukrainian flag scarves due to potential political messaging.

Milan Cortina Paralympics organizers have responded to accusations of "systematic pressure" from Ukraine's Paralympic committee. The local organizing committee reviewed the issues and provided explanations for their decisions. They clarified that national flags are permitted only in the residential areas occupied by a delegation, not in communal spaces.
The organizing committee also stated that Ukraine can book dedicated rooms for meetings and that they work closely with all teams. Regarding an athlete prohibited from wearing an earring with "Stop War" text on the podium, the IPC cited Games regulations.
Additionally, five fans attempting to enter a venue wearing scarves in Ukrainian colors with text were asked to remove them due to unverified political messaging. The items were returned upon their exit. Organizers stressed their commitment to a welcoming environment, applying rules equally to all.
Ukraine was among several nations that boycotted the opening ceremony due to the IPC allowing Russian athletes to compete under their own flag.
