Panthers Eyeing Ex-Dolphin Bradley Chubb for Pass Rush Boost
23 Feb
Summary
- Panthers aim to sign edge rusher Bradley Chubb, recently released by Miami.
- Chubb, 29, is familiar with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero's system.
- Signing Chubb could allow Panthers to address other needs in the NFL draft.
The Carolina Panthers are actively seeking to bolster their edge rusher position, with Bradley Chubb emerging as a primary target. Chubb, recently cut by the Miami Dolphins, offers a potent solution for Carolina's pass-rushing deficiencies. His familiarity with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero's schemes, developed during their time with the Denver Broncos, makes him a compelling candidate.
At 29, Chubb has demonstrated a strong recovery from a torn ACL, as evidenced by his 8.5 sacks in 2025. His previous contract was worth $18 million annually, but he is anticipated to sign for a more team-friendly $12-14 million per year. This acquisition could significantly impact the Panthers' draft strategy, potentially allowing them to address other critical needs like linebacker or offensive skill positions instead of drafting an edge rusher early.
