On November 13, 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced changes to the schedule of an upcoming T20I tri-series involving Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. The opening match, originally planned for November 17, has been rescheduled to November 18, while the second game has been postponed by a day to November 20.
The tri-series, which was previously set to have matches in both Rawalpindi and Lahore, will now be held exclusively in Rawalpindi due to security concerns following a suicide attack in Islamabad. The PCB stated that the decision was made in consultation with the cricket boards of Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe to accommodate operational and match requirements.
Despite the security situation, the Sri Lankan cricket team has decided to continue with its bilateral tour of Pakistan. Earlier, eight players had expressed concerns about continuing the tour, but after discussions with the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board, they have now agreed to stay for the assignment. The Zimbabwe cricket team also reached Islamabad on Thursday morning amid tight security, with the PCB describing the tri-series as an "important preparatory platform" ahead of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.
The revised schedule for the tri-series features four matches for each team, with the top two sides qualifying for the final on November 29.
