He affirmed that a final decision would be announced upon the Prime Minister's return. The PCB chief also expressed strong support for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), criticizing the ICC's handling of BCB's demand for venue relocation as unfair.
"I think there has been injustice with Bangladesh," Naqvi stated, highlighting perceived double standards in ICC's decision-making. He maintained this position during a recent ICC board meeting, arguing that such disparity in treatment is unacceptable. The PCB chief suggested that Bangladesh, a significant stakeholder, has been unfairly treated, a sentiment he plans to elaborate on further if the situation escalates.
