30 Aug
Summary
- Sami Pajari extended his lead in Paraguay despite challenging weather conditions.
- Adrien Fourmaux surged, closing the gap significantly on third-place Elfyn Evans.
- Storms damaged the service park, but cooler temperatures aided tyre management.

Sami Pajari has extended his lead in the World Rally Championship event held in Paraguay. He increased his overnight advantage over Hyundai's Hayden Paddon to 24.1 seconds. While storms struck the service park, damaging tents, the cooler temperatures were beneficial, reducing the risk of tyre issues that had affected previous stages. Pajari faced challenges, including running wide into a ditch and an overshoot, but managed to maintain his composure and lead.
Adrien Fourmaux produced an impressive drive, winning five stages and significantly reducing the gap to third-placed Elfyn Evans. Fourmaux is now just 3.3 seconds behind Evans, setting up an exciting battle for the podium. Evans acknowledged Fourmaux's strong performance and admitted to being too conservative. Toyota's Oliver Solberg climbed to fifth, ahead of M-Sport-Ford's Josh McErlean. Home hero Diego Domínguez leads WRC2 and holds seventh overall, having overcome an unusual issue with his glasses.
