Manny Pacquiao, the legendary eight-division boxing champion, is set to return to the ring this Saturday after nearly four years away. The 46-year-old Filipino icon will challenge WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in the main event of a PBC on Prime PPV at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao's last professional fight was a loss to Yordenis Ugas for the WBA welterweight title in August 2021. Prior to that, he had defeated Keith Thurman to win the WBA welterweight title in 2019, becoming the oldest man to win a welterweight championship at the age of 40.
The undercard features another highly anticipated title bout, as WBC and WBO junior middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora defends his belts against Tim Tszyu in a rematch. Fundora earned the titles with a split-decision victory over Tszyu in 2024, a fight that was a contender for Fight of the Year. Now, the two will square off again, with Fundora looking to repeat his previous success.
Despite his advanced age, Pacquiao remains determined to add another world title to his illustrious resume. If he can defeat the 30-year-old Barrios, he will become the oldest man to win a welterweight championship, surpassing his own record.
