Packers' Josh Jacobs faces charges, lands on Exempt List

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was placed on the Commissioner Exempt List on Sunday, the league announced. This move prevents him from practicing or attending games. The action follows the Brown County District Attorney's announcement on Thursday that Jacobs faces two misdemeanor charges: battery and criminal damage to property. These charges stem from an alleged domestic abuse incident that occurred on May 23.

Initially arrested on May 26, Jacobs faced five charges, including felony strangulation and suffocation. The district attorney's office later stated there was insufficient evidence for criminal charges at that time but continued the investigation. As a result of being placed on the Exempt List, Jacobs will not be on the Packers' 53-man roster by the league deadline. The team has acquired running back Kaleb Johnson from the Steelers to provide depth.
