Summary
- Elgton Jenkins switches from left guard to center for the Packers
- Jenkins skipped voluntary offseason program, hoped for contract renegotiation
- Now focused on preparing for new position, making Pro Bowls as a center

In the past few months, Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins has undergone a significant position change and contract negotiations.
Earlier this year, the Packers decided to move Jenkins from left guard to center, following the departure of last year's starting center Josh Myers. While Jenkins had hoped this position switch would come with a reworked contract, sources say the Packers did not agree to any changes.
Jenkins, who was on the non-football injury list at the start of training camp due to a back issue, has now accepted the situation and is fully focused on preparing for his new role as the Packers' starting center. He has played the position before, both in college and during his first six NFL seasons, and is confident he can excel there.
Despite forfeiting a $500,000 workout bonus by skipping the voluntary offseason program, Jenkins is now ready to build chemistry with his offensive line teammates and become a dominant center in the league, building on the two Pro Bowl selections he earned primarily as a left guard.
