15 Aug
Summary
- Packers' defensive line dominated Colts' offensive line
- Lukas Van Ness, Quay Walker, and Rashan Gary had sacks
- Packers' defense won the backups' 2-minute drill

On August 10th, the Green Bay Packers' defensive line dominated the Indianapolis Colts' offense during a joint practice session. The Packers' defensive unit, led by players like Lukas Van Ness, Quay Walker, and Rashan Gary, consistently pressured and sacked the Colts' offensive line, which was ranked 5th best in the NFL.
Van Ness recorded a couple of sacks against Colts' left tackle Bernhard Raimann, who had just signed a four-year, $100 million contract extension. Moments after Van Ness' first sack, linebacker Quay Walker had another. Rashan Gary also had a sack and a pressure that turned into an interception.
It wasn't just the Packers' starters who impressed. Second-year linebacker Ty'Ron Hoper, third-year defensive tackle Colby Wooden, and rookie Barryn Sorrell all recorded sacks as well. These players are expected to have significant roles for the Packers on Sundays.

While the Colts' first-team offense, led by rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, was able to score on a 2-minute drill to end the practice, the Packers' defense won the backups' 2-minute drill, with safety Isaiah Simmons picking off Daniel Jones.
Packers' defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington has been credited with bringing the group together and instilling a strong sense of unity and work ethic. The players have responded well to Covington's leadership, and they are determined to improve on their performance from the previous season.
