Summary
- Paarl Royals secured their first playoff win in five attempts.
- Royals defeated Joburg Super Kings in the Eliminator match.

The Paarl Royals are heading to the Betway SA20 playoffs, fueled by a decisive victory over the Joburg Super Kings in the Eliminator. This triumph was particularly historic, marking the franchise's first playoff win in five attempts.
The Royals displayed resilience, bouncing back from a recent loss to the same Joburg Super Kings outfit. Their confidence is high heading into a crucial Qualifier 2 match.
They will face the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, a repeat of last season's playoff encounter. The Sunrisers, two-time champions, are looking to recover from their own defeat in Qualifier 1.
Historically, the Sunrisers hold an advantage, having won six out of nine matches against the Royals. However, the Royals are optimistic about their current form and momentum.
The addition of West Indies all-rounder Rovman Powell further bolsters the Royals' squad, providing potential middle-order firepower. The match is scheduled for Friday evening.
