Janicki Steps Up as Wisconsin's Defensive Catalyst

Oskar Janicki has stepped into a crucial role for the Wisconsin Badgers during the 2025-26 season, filling the void left by departed seniors.

Initially a walk-on who redshirted, Janicki has become the team's defensive catalyst, lauded for his positional awareness and versatility. Coach Greg Gard has noted his development into a multi-dimensional player, comparable to former player Carter Gilmore, whom he often called the "quarterback of the defense."

Janicki embraces these comparisons, having formed a strong bond with Gilmore.
